solarcache – the evidence
Here are the facts - taken from a solarcache customer between April 2011 and December 2013.
The chart shows the actual daily consumption of gas and electricity. Solar panels were installed in March 2011 and a solarcache unit installed in June 2011.
• The green curve shows gas consumption (and should be read against the green vertical scale on LHS of chart).
• The orange curve shows electricity consumption (and should be read against the orange vertical scale on RHS of chart).
The gas consumption dropped immediately after the solarcache device was fitted. In fact, the householder turned off her gas hot water heating shortly afterwards and used virtually no gas at all during the summer months. This pattern was repeated the next year.
Note that the electricity consumption didn't go up despite all this hot water being produced by the electric immersion heater. This is because solarcache responds immediately to changes in the power conditions.
